Introduction to the Free Training for Carers Project

The free training for Carer's project was launched in 2007 and will run for five years. The aim of the project is to give Carers of all ages access to appropriate FREE learning opportunities in the Wigan & Leigh areas to provide increased or new skills and knowledge that will:

Benefit Carers in their caring role, meet Carers own aspirations for increased knowledge and personal development, provide Carers with recognition of their skills and abilities to assist with a return to paid employment.

Learning does not just mean studying for qualifications to improve job prospects. Learning can cover a whole range of self development opportunities which can be linked to a hobby or interest, a new challenge or an unfulfilled ambition.
